I was born in Houston, TX and studied life drawing and oil painting at Lowell Collins Academy between the ages of twelve and fifteen. After high school, I studied landscape architecture at Texas A&M and went on to enjoy a 31 yr. career in landscape design, installation and irrigation.
After retiring in 2009, I joined the Highland Arts Guild and have returned to my passion for oil painting. I have had the privilege of broadening my knowledge and honing my skills with many talented and professional artists over the years, such as Dalhart Windberg, Gay Faulkenbury, Vicki McMurry, Bob Rohm, Vie Dunn-Harr, Ann Templeton, Anthony Gonzales, Kathy Tate, Carol Marine and Barry McCuan.
I attempt to convey an emotional as well as visual aspect of my subject through color, brushwork and composition and continue my art education through workshops with other artists and a never-ending study of nature.
