After 36 successful years involved in real estate in Austin, Texas, Joan retired to the Texas Hill Country. There, she has found time to develop her lifelong love of painting. She captures the richness and depth of character of both humans and animals as well as the extraordinary beauty of the landscape using watercolors and oils. From her early childhood skills when she designed her paper dolls clothes until now, she reveals her heartfelt inspiration in each piece.
Joan has been a student of artist Katherine Uitz for many years and attended workshops with renowned artists George Hallmark, Martin Grelle, Bruce Green, Doug Prine and Rick Dentinger. She is a member of the Highland Arts Guild and Gallery and enjoys commission work.
