I am a courthouse baby, born in what was then the hospital in Blanco County. I have lived on ranches in Blanco and Hays Counties all of my life, and I've spent many hours playing near North and South Onion Creeks. I developed a love of painting water over rocks and small waterfalls. I also love painting distant hills, clouds and live oak trees.
I have taken lots of lessons, always choosing teachers that loved Hill Country landscapes. My most well known teachers were Dick Turner from Houston and Corinne Gainer from Conroe. I won Best of Show during my first year in Conroe Art League with my western still life. I'm so happy to have found my current teacher, Peggy Cain, here at the Highland Arts Guild & Gallery. She is a very good artist and makes painting a joy and a pleasure.
Oil painting is my therapy. It relieves my anxiety and stress and makes me happy.
