Marble Falls, Texas

Ginger McNutt

I've had an interest in art since childhood, but didn't begin painting until I was an adult. I studied fine arts at Louisiana State University and later,  as an Air Force wife, I had a chance to study art around the world. I lived in California, Ohio, Indiana, Japan, Berlin and Germany before moving to west Texas.

I had the opportunity to study painting in each of these places with a variety of instructors through the Officer's Wives Club. In Ohio I was able to display my work in the Officer's Club. In Germany I painted landscapes and castles. In Texas I changed to bluebonnets and cactus.

I was affiliated with an art shop in Abilene where I taught beginning and intermediate classes as well as workshops. At this time, I also studied with several of the top artists in Texas and participated in several art shows each year.

I began spending summers in Breckenridge, CO in 1995 and painted mountain scenes as well as charming local establishments.

I moved to Burnet in 2004, but with new home and new friends had little time for painting. About a year ago I joined Buchanan Arts and Crafts and participated in Marble Falls " Paint the Town". Both encouraged me to get serious about my art again. I am now painting several days a week and enjoying it.
