Glenda Clair Butler began private art classes as a senior in high school from Nan Jackson, a well known sculptor and artist in Galveston, Texas. She briefly considered art as a major at the University of Houston. Instead, she studied for a Master of Arts Degree in Speech Pathology. After graduating, she worked in many settings before establishing Kingwood Speech Pathology Services, which is still serving the area thirty-seven years later.
On retirement, she moved to the Texas Hill Country. Her intention was to "dabble" in art, but she became serious about it instead! Glenda has attended numerous workshops with teachers such as Susan Carlin in San Antonio, Jeff Legg at the Northwest Arkansas Art Association in Arkansas, and Nancy Medina of Flower Mound, Texas. She loves Impressionism and enjoys attending Donna Bland's Friday class at Highland Art Guild & Gallery. Oils are her preferred medium.
