Guild and Gallery

Betty Bielser

After painting with oils for several years, I switched to watercolor and have not been disappointed in the 40 years since. It is the most versatile of all mediums and I am still amazed at how many styles it affords the artist.

My paintings are original, taken from my photos or while painting on location. My favorite subjects are Texas wildflowers, Hill Country landscapes and Western scenes, but I am particularly fond of painting watercolor portraits.

I have a passion for learning and have written two workbooks, "One Step at a Time-Watercolor for Beginners" and "One step at a Time-Watercolor Portraits", which I use when I teach workshops and sell upon request.

My work is on display at Galleries at Pecan Creek and Highland Arts Guild/Gallery in Marble Falls and Buchanan Arts and Crafts Guild/Gallery in Buchanan Dam and other locations in the Highland Lakes area. I am also a member of the Texas Watercolor Society. I won First Place in 2015 and Second Place in 2016 at the Burnet Plein Air Competition.
